The Department of Mathematics and Statistics offers undergraduate and graduate degrees in mathematics and statistics.
Research interests in mathematics include algebraic statistics, analysis, combinatorics, computational algebra, control theory, geometric analysis, graph theory, inverse problems, mathematical biology, mathematical physics, mathematics education, numerical analysis, partial differential equations, and optics.
Research interests in statistics include sampling design, biostatistics, spatial statistics, density estimation, quality control, and design of experiments.

- The Math and Stat Lab will be closed the remainder of this semester.
- Online Tutoring through Zoom, only for students enrolled in UAF core MATH and STAT
courses. To make an appointment go to Online Tutoring. Students will need to log in using their UA credentials. There is no wait time
to make an appointment and appointments can be made for 30, 45,or 60 minutes.
- One-on-One Tutoring will not be offered the remainder of this semester.
- Small Group Tutoring will not be offered this Spring.
