Graduate Programs Overview

The UAF School of Education is fully accredited. We serve graduate students from all of Alaska as well as from other states and nations. We are particularly committed to enhancing the educational opportunities for Alaska's rural and Native teachers.

The UAF School of Education is approved by the Alaska Department of Education and Early Development to recommend its students for licensure as elementary teachers, secondary teachers and school counselors; and to recommend its students for additional endorsement in reading, world language education, bilingual multi-cultural education, and Alaska native language education.

School of Education faculty are located at the Fairbanks campus and at UAF's rural campuses, in keeping with the school's commitment to preparing educators for rural Alaska.

Graduate courses are available on-site at the Fairbanks campus. Most graduate programs are available by distance delivery throughout the state. Faculty research in cross-cultural studies, curriculum and instruction, language and literacy, and small rural schools support the missions of the School of Education.
