Carrie was born and raised in Fairbanks, Alaska and graduated from West Valley High School in 2001. In 2006 she graduated from the University of Alaska Fairbanks with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Justice. Carrie truly enjoys living in Fairbanks and plans to be here for several more years. In her free time she enjoys going to hockey games, spending time with her friends and family, traveling, and playing with her beagle Gatsby. Request more information from UAF or email Carrie.

While Joe was originally born in Canada, he has spent enough time in Fairbanks to consider himself a native. He graduated from Lathrop high school in '03 (go 'Mutes!). From there, he moved to UAF as a UA Scholar. He received his BA in Theatre in '07 and an additional BA in Japanese Studies in '08. Joe is currently enrolled in the MA Professional Communication program and hopes to complete that in December 2011. He has taken advantage of tons of opportunities at UAF, such as living on campus, campus jobs, international exchange, and more. He enjoys playing retro video games (SMB FTW), singing karaoke and cooking. He lives in Fairbanks with his lovely wife Erin. Born and raised in central New England, Lael ventured to Alaska in 2006 with her partner, Mark. Always up for adventure, Lael and Mark (Coordinator of UAF's Outdoor Adventure Programs), have enjoyed the extensive opportunities available to them at UAF and in Alaska (camping, rock climbing, ice climbing, rafting, canoeing, sight seeing, hiking, fishing, visiting glaciers, soaking in hot springs, running, art, music, eating great food, etc.). Lael particularly loves to garden, enjoys visiting the farmer's market each week, and likes spending quality time with her family. Professionally, Lael has served as a the Resident Director of UAF's Moore Hall, and now works as the Director of Undergraduate Recruitment in the Office of Admissions & the Registrar.

Mary was raised in Portland, Oregon and, in 1999, came to UAF to play basketball for the Nanooks. In 2003, she graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Communication. As the result of her interaction with a national speaker while a UAF intern, a research internship was created for her in Washington, DC after graduation. In 2006, Mary earned a Master of Arts degree in English and spent the next few years teaching undergraduate English and Writing courses at colleges and universities in the Pacific Northwest and Alaska.
Mary, her husband, and their daughter are thrilled to be back in Fairbanks and a part of the UAF community. Her favorite activities in Fairbanks include: participating in the Midnight Sun Fun Run in full costume on the summer solstice, biking, hiking, watching the aurora, and showing her frequent out of town guests the wonders of Fairbanks and Alaska. She also enjoys attending concerts and plays on campus and Nanook Athletic events. Mary's current goal is to learn to cross-country ski on the 17 miles of ski trails on campus.
