
Daily campus tours
There's no better way to find out if a school is right for you than to visit in person. See the whole campus in action. Talk to students, staff and faculty. Check out the residence halls, facilities, extracurricular activities, student employment opportunities and more.
Departing daily on weekdays at 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. from the Signers' Hall lobby, tours generally last 1-1.5 hours and cover campus academic facilities, residence life and student life. Tours may be tailored to meet your interest. Bring walking shoes and weather appropriate attire.
Your visit can include:
- an informational session with an admissions counselor
- a student-led campus tour
- private appointments with professors, academic advisors and financial aid counselors
- classroom visits
- lunch on us!

Individual visits
Individual visits are available Monday through Friday, year-round, except during campus closures. If you would like to schedule an individual visit, please fill out the campus visit request form or contact Amy Wald.
Group visits
If you would like to bring a group of students to UAF for a campus tour and/or meeting with Admissions, please fill out the group campus visit request form.
Directions to UAF
Automobile
Coming from Anchorage on the Parks Highway: Take the Geist Road exit and turn left onto Geist. Continue east on Geist for 1/2 mile to Thompson Dr. Turn left onto Thompson Drive, which ends at a traffic circle. Take the first right (Tanana Loop East).
Coming from Delta Junction on the Richardson Highway: Approximately 10 miles past North Pole, take the exit on the right labeled “Denali Park.” You are now on the Mitchell Expressway. After approximately three miles, take the Geist Road exit, and turn right onto Geist Road. Continue east on Geist for 1/2 mile to Thompson Drive. Turn left onto Thompson drive, which ends at a traffic circle. Take the first right (Tanana Loop East).

Parking
Park in the Nenana lot and get a visitor parking pass. Take the shuttle to the Eielson Building.

Train
The Alaska Railroad has service from Anchorage to the downtown Fairbanks railroad depot, located about four miles from campus. From the station, taxis and borough buses are available.

Discover UAF events
Choosing a college is a big decision. We can make it easy.
The Discover UAF open house series is an exciting opportunity to tour campus, meet faculty, staff and students, and get a glimpse of UAF life. Events are open to all; however, they are geared for high school juniors and seniors.
Most events are held from 1 - 3:30 p.m.

Discover UAF: Inside Out

The Discover UAF: Inside Out program is our most comprehensive preview day. Students and parents will have the opportunity to ask questions, get answers and experience life at UAF during UAF Inside Out, a preview event designed to let you see what the University of Alaska Fairbanks is all about--from the inside out. We'll turn the university inside out so you can get the real story on financial aid, the admission process, classes and professors at UAF, extracurricular fun, and our outstanding academic programs.

This event is your opportunity to get your UAF academic advising, class registration and financial aid information all at one event. Attendees will be entered into a drawing for a $150 credit toward their tuition costs.

Discover UAF: Military, Veterans and Families

This event encompasses everything active military, veterans or their dependents need to know about UAF and the resources available to help them succeed. During this open house you'll have the opportunity to:
- Meet with admissions, transfer credit and financial aid representatives who specialize in military and veteran students
- Meet with the Veterans' Services staff
- Learn about the services and programs available to military and veteran students
- Enjoy a free lunch on us!
