Visit campus
There’s no better way to find out if a school is right for you than to visit in person. At the University of Alaska Fairbanks, we’re excited to show you what we’re all about. Let us show you all that UAF has to offer!
Visiting lets you:
-
See the whole campus in action, from classrooms to the Student Recreation Complex, from West Ridge to the Wood Center. You can talk to students, staff and faculty about life at UAF and see if UAF is right for you.
-
Check out facilities, extracurricular activities, student employment opportunities and more. And get the real scoop on living at UAF by staying on campus during your visit.
-
Get a sense of place. Millions of acres of wild country surround Fairbanks (population 82,340). Discover how much there is to do in and around the city, wherever your interests take you.
Your visit package can include:
- an informational session with an admissions counselor
- a student-led campus tour
- private appointments with professors, academic advisors and financial aid counselors
- classroom visits
- lunch on us!
Individual visits
Individual visits are available Monday through Friday, year-round, except during campus closures. If you would like to schedule an individual visit, please fill out the Individual campus visit request form or contact Charlie Armstrong.
Inside Out preview day
Occurring each fall and spring, this overnight event allows high school juniors and seniors, as well as their parents, to try out life at UAF. Find out what we’re all about--from the inside out. Find out more about Inside Out preview day.
Group visits
If you would like to bring a group of students to UAF for a campus tour and/or meeting with Admissions, please fill out the Group campus visit request form.
What if you can’t visit in person?
If you won’t be able to visit the UAF campus in person, you can still get to know us. You might begin with a virtual tour of campus. Afterward, check out our student notebook project to see what it’s like to study and play here. You can also find out about our student ambassadors—where they’re from, what they’re studying and why they chose UAF. If you have a question about life at UAF, you can even ask them directly!
You can also feel free to get in touch with one of our Admissions Outreach Coordinators. We’re glad to answer your questions and talk about what makes UAF America’s arctic university.
