Blackboard Information
Blackboard is a web-based course management tool that enables UAF instructors to provide academic courses and educational services online. It allows instructors to easily upload their course content, develop and administer surveys and tests, have group discussions, and hold interactive chat sessions online from anywhere in the world. Students can upload homework, create group web pages, and e-mail students and instructors through an easy-to-use web interface.
Do students really like Blackboard?
Yes! To date, eighty percent of the students we've talked to about Blackboard have expressed their desire to keep utilizing the program because it's convenient. They like being able to retrieve grades, upload and retrieve course content, and access assignments over the web. Most students say they get frustrated whenever they start a class that doesn't utilize Blackboard. This web-based instructional tool is used by more than half of the local and rural faculty. As soon as the integration with Banner and Blackboard is compete, we expect that number to grow by thirty percent.
