September 2021 Meeting

Staff Council action updates:

• In January 2021 Staff Council sent a memo to Interim VC Stern regarding challenges facing rural campuses. See VC Stern's response here. 
• In September 2021 Staff Council sent a memo to Interim President Pitney regarding the proposed remote work regulations. 
• In September 2021 Staff Council sent a memo to Chancellor White in support of the Department of Biology & Wildlife faculty’s letter dated August 31, 2021, including the recommendation to “adopt a [COVID-19] vaccine requirement for all those engaged in on-campus activities.” 
• In September 2021 Staff Council sent a memo to Interim President Pitney regarding the suggested change to Regulation R04.10.010.A.3 and R04.10.030.E.9.

At the September 14 Staff Council meeting Margo Griffith, Director of the Department of Equity and Compliance, gave a presentation on the new Title IX guidance and Strategic Plan on Inclusive Excellence (SPIE). One of the monthly events that was developed out of SPIE is the monthly Shine a Light Speaker series promoting Conversation on Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion.
