To receive SSS program services, a student must have an academic need and meet eligibility requirements.
All services are FREE to eligible students.
Our staff is dedicated to providing a broad base of quality services with a focused, holistic approach and student-centered learning environment. Services we provide include:
Eligible first-year students attending UAF in person are encouraged to apply to the Emerging Scholars Academy or Emerging STEM Scholars Academy summer bridge programs and cohort learning community.
SSS offers two or three workshops per semester. Topics vary but might include planning ahead, finances and life after graduation. This is a good opportunity to learn about many topics on campus in a short amount of time. Check the SSS semester schedule for the next workshop.
Student Support Services participants have the opportunity to participate in free cultural activities, which include plays, trips to museums, field trips, holiday parties and on-campus events. Events are posted in the SSS Tutoring Center, office area, Blackboard and Facebook pages and website. Notices are also sent to students via email.
The Student Advisory Council is made up of active SSS students and alumni. They provide a number of auxiliary functions.
