Emergency Plans

Emergency Management coordinates the development of the University of Alaska Fairbanks (UAF) emergency plans.

There are 2 primary levels of emergency plans at UAF:

Emergency Action Plans (EAP) – Each UAF building should have an EAP as outlined in UAF Policy 02.09.002. These plans provide guidance in determining the appropriate actions to prevent injury and property loss from emergency incidents, including evacuation.

The Emergency Management Team provides EAP process oversight, ensures Building Coordinators have updated EAP guidance, and maintain a repository of current EAPs (below in alphabetical order by building name).

To support Building Coordinator and Supervisor training responsibilities outlined in the before mentioned Policy, a building EAP specific Quiz is located below with its related EAP.

Emergency Operations Plan (EOP)– The campus Emergency Operations Plan is the overall plan that guides university administrators in the event of an emergency. The UAF EOP uses an all-hazards approach to establish policies and responsibilities for university staff and faculty in the event of an emergency.

The UAF EOP explains how the university will manage emergencies on any of the university campuses through the preparedness, mitigation, response and recovery phases with the following prioritization:

  • Protect life, property and the environment
  • Promote safety of students, faculty, staff and visitors
  • Describe the mechanisms for disaster response coordination among University staff and volunteers, local government and first responders in the management of emergencies or disasters
  • Assign emergency management tasks to university staff and faculty as appropriate for response to natural and man-made hazards.

Due to the sensitive nature of the information contained in the plan, it is not made available to the public.
