May 8, 2026
Attendees of the spring 2026 Study Away Pre-departure Orientation.
As the spring semester wraps up, 41 UAF students are preparing to embark on a new adventure this summer or fall. These students will spend a semester or academic year experiencing life as a student at another university, all across the country and the world.
Students participating in National Student Exchange this fall will study in Alabama, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Pennsylvania, Minnesota, Montana, New York, Ohio, Washington and the U.S. territory of Guam.
Students participating in international exchange / study abroad programs this summer and fall will study in Australia, Costa Rica, England, Finland, Georgia, Germany, Greenland, Iceland, Italy, Japan, Norway, Scotland and Spain.
In mid-April, most of these students gathered in the BP Design Theater for Pre-departure Orientation, where they learned from the Study Away Peer Advisors and other alumni of the program about preparation steps, culture shock, staying safe abroad and other tips.
Students interested in the Study Away program can find more information at uaf.edu/studyaway.
