UAF-OLLI recruitment for fall 2026

May 21, 2026

Want to share your passion and knowledge? UAF’s Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is currently seeking volunteer instructors for the fall. It's a wonderful, low-stress opportunity to gain teaching experience with a friendly audience.

OLLI is a non-credit educational program for adults ages 50 and up. It offers short courses in numerous subjects during the fall and spring semesters. Past topics have included Fairbanks tall tales, the scientific history of Alaska, bird migration patterns, weather forecasting, and an assortment of recreational courses. We welcome any topics you’re interested in sharing with us!

Volunteer instructors include UAF faculty, staff, graduate students and knowledgeable community members. You don’t have to be an expert, you just have to be passionate!

A typical course meets once a week for four weeks for 75 minutes each meeting. Most courses meet between 10:30 a.m. and 5 p.m., but we offer early evening time slots as well. The course proposal form is available here.

The deadline for fall course proposals is June 18.
