Spring leadership courses

UAF Administrative Services, in partnership with Cordis Enterprises, is offering two leadership courses: Supervisor's Toolbox: Essential Leadership Skills and Self-Leadership: Navigating Your Path To Success. The courses will be open to participants campus-wide. The fee for each course is $895 per person.*  Please submit your application for consideration by April 1. * To help make this training more accessible, 50% of the fee will be covered for UAF units by Administrative Services.


Supervisor's Toolbox: Essential Leadership Skills
This program is designed for supervisors/managers who would like to learn (or refresh) the practical skills needed to help create productive teams and achieve quality results.  Participants will learn foundational skills such as setting clear direction, delegating, giving and receiving feedback, coaching and developing people, translating for effective communication, and having crucial conversations.

The course will be delivered in-person Monday, April 22 and Tuesday, April 23 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in room 501 of the Akasofu building on the Troth Yeddha' Campus and led by Consultant and Leadership Coach Peggy Jasperson.

Self-Leadership: Navigating Your Path To Success
This program is designed for employees who do not hold a formal leadership position but are leading from their seat. Participants will learn the foundational skills and mindsets that will not only support them in their current role but, will also support them as they navigate their personal leadership journey.  

Topics include: knowing myself as a leader, being a strong team player, having a customer-focused approach to performing tasks, communicating effectively, and setting goals for personal and professional development. There will be six, 2-hour sessions with Consultant and Leadership Coach Peggy Jasperson. The dates are:  April 9, 11, 16, 18, 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to noon. Note: This will be a live facilitated online course and camera "on" is requested.
