Canceled: Observation and mindfulness workshop

Visiting artist Jonathan VanDyke will lead a workshop on mindfulness and sustained observation at the UAF Museum of the North.

The University of Alaska Museum of the North will offer an adult art workshop entitled "Sustained Observation and Mindfulness" on Sunday, June 4, from 3 to 5:30 p.m. 

Visiting artist Jonathan VanDyke will guide participants in using mindfulness techniques to view and meditate upon objects from the museum collection that are not on public exhibit.

Van Dyke, a New York City-based visual artist and performer, is a guest faculty member for the UAF undergraduate interdisciplinary program. His work focuses on “contemplating the unfolding of works of art, objects and human connection in dynamic relationship to the passing of time.”

No experience is necessary for this workshop. Pre-registration is required. Registration is $20 for museum members and $25 for non-members.
