MFA in effect for VPN and VDI starting Oct. 31

Over the past two years, UAF has been rolling out a security enhancement called Multi-Factor Authentication to better protect user accounts and sensitive university information from malicious cyber-attacks. Today, all employees, including student-employees are required to use MFA.

Starting Oct. 31, everyone using VPN or VDI from off-campus locations will be required to use MFA through Duo. This will include the subset of students authorized to use VPN and VDI from off-campus.

MFA is available to everyone today! For more information and details on how to self-enroll visit the Nanook Technology Services Multi-Factor page.
