A series of free online classes will teach participants how to get started on their gardens, as well as techniques such as growing plants through plastic, as Casey Matney demonstrates in this corn patch.

Grow your gardening knowledge. University of Alaska Fairbanks Cooperative Extension Service agent Casey Matney will teach a series of 11 gardening webinars to help you get your garden ready for the upcoming growing season.

The free classes will be held online via Zoom at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesdays, from March 19 to May 28. Topics include seed starting, soil testing, using raised beds, planting potatoes, hardening off and transplanting seedlings, and composting.

Click on each Zoom link to register for that class.

Can’t make the class when it’s live? Preregister and you will be sent a link to watch the video later.
