Deer figures are illuminated with festive lights at the Georgeson Botanical Garden. Visitors can enjoy holiday lights at the garden three evenings per week from Dec. 18-Jan. 17.

The Georgeson Botanical Gardens will transform into a winter wonderland this December. Wander through the garden on the University of Alaska Fairbanks Troth Yeddha' Campus, and experience the magic of Arctic Lights. Thousands of festive lights will illuminate the garden pathways from 5-9 p.m. on Thursdays, Fridays and Saturdays, between Dec. 18 and Jan. 17.

Watch UAF’s New Year’s Eve Sparktacular fireworks display from the garden and experience Arctic Lights before and after the show. Fireworks will be launched from UAF’s West Ridge starting at 8 p.m.

Visitors are encouraged to take a stroll along the paths between the garden beds, which are put to rest for the winter. Wildlife may be present, so keep an eye out for moose, porcupines and other creatures that may be active on these cold winter nights.

Please stay on the paths and take care, as they may be icy or uneven due to varying weather conditions. Donations are encouraged. Children must be accompanied by an adult.
