Food for Fines enables campus to support its own community
Jan. 21, 2026
When the times get tough, the days get shorter and the temperatures drop, everyone in our community feels it. Leading up to the Holiday season, the Office of the Bursar and Parking Services was happy to spread a bit of joy around the campus community during this time.
Thanks to the “Food for Fines” food drive, community members with past parking fines were invited to pay it forward in the form of non-perishable food donations. During the drive, 134 parking citations were reduced to a warning, and over 1,450 food items were collected. Even more impressive was that all of the donated goods stayed on campus and were distributed to several community resource organizations.
Office of the Bursar and Parking Services wishes everyone a Happy New Year, and thanks to all who participated in the food drive!
