Dr. Steffi Ickert-Bond recognized with national award

Dr. Steffi Ickert-Bond, University of Alaska Fairbanks Professor of Botany and Curator of the University of Alaska Museum of the North Herbarium, is the recipient of the 2022 Charles Edwin Bessey Teaching Award from the Botanical Society of America. This prestigious award recognizes individuals whose work has impacted botanical education at a regional, national, or international level.

The Botanical Society of America writes, “Dr. Steffi Ickert-Bond is a well-respected botanist with a passion for fieldwork, collections, and natural history, combined with skills in active learning and evidence-based pedagogy — as well as a conviction for offering equitable access to science learning.”
