Construction starts soon for University Park child care facility

Facilities Services' Division of Design and Construction announced that construction of the child care center at the University Park Building will begin in the spring. Entrances to the south wing of the building and the gymnasium will be restricted starting March 16 in preparation for upcoming construction.
The work will consist of renovating the south wing and the gymnasium for use as a child care center. The interior of the building will be renovated and classrooms will be purpose-built for the care of infants through school-age children. A grass playground will be constructed west of the building and other exterior improvements will be made to prepare the site for children. Construction will last about one year, finishing in the spring of 2027.
An email will be sent to current University Park users to coordinate final moving activities and access to the space.
