Workshop offers tips on writing for academic journals

A writing workshop will offer strategies for writing peer-reviewed journal manuscripts from 2-3 p.m. Monday, Oct. 15, in Akasofu 401.


The workshop will cover topics such as journal selection, manuscript outlines, intention and content of sections, communication with co-authors, response to peer reviews and academic writing techniques.


The workshop is for undergraduate upperclassmen, graduate students, postdocs and junior faculty.


Vanessa Hiratsuka, a researcher with the Southcentral Foundation, an Anchorage-based, Alaska Native nonprofit health care organization, will lead the workshop. It is sponsored by the UA Biomedical Learning and Student Training program.


The workshop will be available online via Pexip.
