Theatre UAF’s Student Drama Association is pleased to announce their Fall production, Winter Shorts, consisting of three student-directed one-act plays and the Ground Squirrel Improv troupe. Each fall and spring student directors submit plays for consideration to be included in the Winter Shorts. Students direct, design and produce the plays to give them the understanding of what theater production is like outside of the academic environment.

  •  Melissa Buchta directs Speed-the-Play by David Ives, a short play satirizing the work of David Mamet.

  • Andrew Cassel directs An Evening Crossword by Kimberly Megna, a short play about college friendship.

  • Chris Mertes directs Family 2.0 by Walter Wykes, a short play about a family in the 21st century.

  • Beginning the evening’s entertainment is a performance by the Ground Squirrel Improv troupe.


Performances will be held at 8:15 p.m. on:

  • Friday, Dec. 2

  • Saturday, Dec. 3

  • Friday, Dec. 9

  • Saturday, Dec. 10


A Sunday matinee will close the run at 2 p.m., Dec. 11. Tickets are $5.  All performances will be held in the Salisbury Lab Theatre .
