University Relations

UAF students, faculty, staff and alumni can share ideas about our tobacco-free campus while participating in a research study.

The project asks participants to explore the meaning of a "smoke- and tobacco-free campus" using photovoice and digital storytelling techniques. They can participate in one or both projects.

The photovoice project involves:

  • Taking photos.

  • Sharing photos with others during one small group discussion.

  • Sharing your photos with others.

  • A $20 gift card.

The digital storytelling project involves:

  • Three workshop sessions.

  • Creating your own digital story.

  • Sharing your digital story.

  • A $20 gift card for each session (up to $60).

Inna Rivkin and Ellen Lopez, faculty members in the Psychology Department, lead the project. For more information, contact Rivkin at 907-474-6178 or idrivkin@alaska.edu or Lopez at 907-474-7318 or edlopez@alaska.edu.
