Week’s events: CLA memories, dental health, space physics, jazz

University of Alaska Fairbanks Summer Sessions and Lifelong Learning is hosting 40 free lectures, concerts and other events this summer. Here is what’s happening during the week ahead:

• On Monday, July 29, the Down Memory Lane interview series will include a discussion with Phyllis Morrow, retired professor of anthropology and dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Veteran journalist Robert Hannon will conduct the interview, which will be at 7 p.m. in the Murie Building auditorium.
• On Tuesday, July 30, the Healthy Living lecture series will feature retired dentist Ron Teel. He will present “Keep Your Smile! How Oral Health and General Health are Interconnected, and Amazing Advances in Dentistry Over the Past 45 Years.” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building auditorium.
• On Wednesday, July 31, the Discover Alaska lecture series will feature Peter Delamere, UAF professor of space physics. Delamere will discuss “Earth’s Aurora vs. Jupiter’s Aurorae.” The lecture will be at 7 p.m. at the Murie Building auditorium.
• On Thursday, Aug. 1, the Music in the Garden concert series will host the Fairbanks Community Jazz Band. Music begins at 7 p.m. in the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
