University Relations has produced a webpage to share some of the rankings given to UAF by outside organizations.

The page offers prospective students and others a way to quickly find out how UAF compares to other universities.

UAF receives excellent marks from many outside reviewers, both overall and in specific fields.

Numerous ranking systems exist. Their techniques and quality vary greatly. Almost all have been criticized for their shortcomings. Nevertheless, many rankings offer insights to prospective students and their families and may influence their enrollment decisions.

Rankings on the page have been reviewed by the offices of Planning, Analysis and Institutional Research, Admissions and University Relations.

UAF's web page will highlight rankings that not only reflect well on UAF but also use more reliable methods, to the extent these can be determined by PAIR.

This does not mean UAF will always appear at the very top of the hundreds of institutions that might be scored in a ranking featured on the webpage. Some rankings are chosen simply to show UAF's position as a peer among other excellent institutions or to highlight the kind of place UAF is.
