Workplace betterment webinars offered to employees

July 28, 2014

Cornerstone

Several webinars from August through October this year offer refreshers on topics like resolving conflicts, cutting clutter and developing your creativity.

The 45-minute webinars are offered by the training and consulting department of ComPsych Corp., UA’s Employee Assistance Program provider. ComPsych training events and workshops are developed by training experts and specialists in adult education. You can also find supplemental information within the “GuidanceResources® Online,”   available to you free as a university employee online at http://www.compsych.com/employee-member-access.

Webinar topics with dates and times are posted on the website http://www.alaska.edu/hrtraining/e-learning/compsych-learning-events/ and are advertised in the Statewide Voice newsletter.

For your convenience, webinar information and registration links follow. You may need to copy the URL/web address to your web browser:

If the webinar takes place during your work hours, supervisory approval should be obtained pre-event to ensure proper departmental coverage. Employees may join these webinars from any computer with speakers and use the chat function to ask questions or comment.

Although a telephone number will be provided with the webinar confirmation, it is not a toll-free number. Therefore, a computer with speakers (or earbuds) and chat function is the preferred method for participating.

Supervisors may request a webinar topic for a department meeting or retreat. Employees may request a topic for a future webinar date. Simply review the ComPsych Catalog, http://www.alaska.edu/hrtraining/e-learning/compsych-learning-events/. When submitting a request, please email ua-hrtraining@alaska.edu and include “ComPsych Webinar Request” in the subject line with your webinar topic and requested date and time. Confirmations on requested webinars are dependent upon ComPsych corporate trainer’s availability; there is no charge if it falls within the UA annual contract.

If you have any questions, contact Anne Sakumoto, UA System director of faculty/staff training and development, in Anchorage, at anne.sakumoto@alaska.edu or 786-1432.
