A webinar about the early stages of starting a business in the biomedical field will be offered Thursday, Dec. 19, at noon Alaska time. This webinar is for UAF researchers and those in other schools in the National Institute of Health Western Institutional Development Award states through the ASCEND Hub.

You can register here or at www.ascendhub.org.

The presenter, Dave Bohling, is the director of the Wyoming Technology Business Center incubator. He has extensive personal experience in academia, startups and business leadership. He holds more than a dozen patents, has over 70 technical publications and has worked on technologies that have produced more than $1 billion in cumulative revenue.

The IDeA program builds research capacities in states that historically have had low levels of NIH funding by supporting basic, clinical, and translational research; faculty development; and infrastructure improvements.
