Webinar details sea ice, walrus outlook tool

The Alaska Center for Climate Assessment and Policy will host a statewide webinar Tuesday, June 15 at 10 a.m.

The webinar will focus on a new online tool that could help subsistence hunters in Western Alaska locate and access walruses. The tool describes ice conditions and weather forecasts that relate to the distribution of walruses. UAF researchers, scientists with the National Weather Service and the director of the Eskimo Walrus Commission will discuss the new project and will be available for questions.
