Web technology outage scheduled for May 17

The Office of Information Technology has scheduled a planned outage starting at 4
a.m. on Sunday, May 17, to conduct the annual fire alarm safety test. The 12-hour
exercise will result in several brief, intermittent interruptions of access to the
UAF website, UAOnline, Google Apps logins, Blackboard, Banner and other systems.
OIT recommends setting up an alternate login to access your Google Apps @ UA email
account during this outage. Simply set up a Google-side password before the outage
by following the procedure at https://www.alaska.edu/google/password-change/. This password is different from the one you use to access Google Apps with an Internet
browser such as Internet Explorer or Firefox.
