Weather Service to celebrate centennial at UAF

The University of Alaska Fairbanks and the National Weather Service will mark the 100th anniversary of weather observation at the Fairbanks Experiment Farm Thursday, June 30 at 1 p.m. with a ceremony at the farm.

Representatives from the weather service and UAF will be on hand for brief remarks. The farm is the oldest continuous weather observation site in Alaska. Observations began there on July 1, 1911.
