The Alaska women's volleyball team gave the community of Fairbanks a sneak peak at this year's 2012 team with the annual Blue-Gold intrasquad scrimmage on Friday night at the Patty Center.

Gold defeat Blue in all five sets by scores of 25-18, 30-28, 25-23, 25-17 and 15-6, but the spikers alternated to different teams from set to set.

Junior outside hitter Keri Knight and senior outside hitter Reilly Stevens led the offensive attack as Knight finished with 24 kills and 18 digs, while Stevens contributed 18 kills and 18 digs.

Freshman setter Katlyn Mataya tallied a team-best 49 assists, with no errors, to set up a lot of chances for the outsides. Freshman outside hitter Sam Harthun had a solid night with 14 kills and four services aces and sophomore middle blocker Morgan Tebbs totaled 12 kills and 11 blocks.

The Nanooks will compete in the Alumni match Saturday night at 7 p.m. at the Patty Center in the final tune-up prior to next weekend's Flint Hills Resources Nanook Classic, which takes place Aug. 31 and Sept. 1.
