Virtual CoW Oct. 24: Writing together while apart

October 22, 2020

University Relations

Join this year’s Virtual CoW, a Community of Writing event, on Saturday, Oct. 24, from 11 a.m. - 3 p.m.

In the past, CoW took place in the Noel Wien Public Library. This year, we are trying something new! Our sessions will be virtual, free and open to people of all ages from across the state.

These are trying times; we need each other more than ever. Let’s Zoom together and experiment with writing, practice mindfulness, and build a resilient, caring community. Feel free to join in and listen, camera on or off. You can choose. There will be opportunities to slow down and breathe, create music and blackout poems, turn sounds into collaborative stories, and even design an inside-out publication.

Volunteers from Blossom House, UAF English Department, UAF College of Liberal Arts, Learning Inside Out Network, Interior Alaska Center for Non-Violent Living, and members of the larger community designed this event and will come together to share a love of writing.

Learn more on the CoW website, and join the event for free via Zoom. For more information, call Sarah Stanley at 907-750-8978.
