Vice Chancellor of the College of Rural and Community Development Bernice Joseph was among those recognized by the Fairbanks North Star Borough’s Early Childhood Development Commission for her efforts to help employees balance work and family responsibilities.

The commission created the award in part because a family-friendly philosophy creates a more productive work environment and greater employee loyalty and morale. It can also contribute to families raising children that become students and citizens.
