December 11, 2020

University Relations

The Office of Information Technology has an updated schedule for the transition to a UA Blackboard Learn Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) deployment.

When will the upgrade start?

The official UA Learn migration transition will begin Friday, Dec. 18, starting at 11:59 p.m. After this time, UA Blackboard Learn will be unavailable. Users attempting to access UA Learn will be forwarded to the UA OIT service status page, where they can check for updates on the upgrade status. Any user-specific communication will be delivered to users via the Status Page.

When will the upgrade be completed?

UA OIT engineering staff and the Blackboard migration team will be working to ensure that UA Blackboard Learn will be available by the evening of Dec. 24, 2020, in order to be consistent with our planned downtime period. Any updates to this availability status will be delivered via the OIT service status page.

Is testing still open?

Yes! If you would like to experience how the SaaS environment for UA Blackboard Learn will perform, users can still continue to test the platform here.

If you have any questions or comments related to the upgrade, contact OIT at  450-83001-800-478-8226 or helpdesk@alaska.edu.
