UAF to host engineering open house

The University of Alaska Fairbanks College of Engineering and Mines will host a full slate of free, family-friendly events Saturday, Feb. 27, during its annual Engineering Open House. All events start at 11 a.m. and run until 3 p.m. in the Duckering Building on the Fairbanks campus.

Activities and demonstrations include an electric hot dog cooker, making mud milkshakes, Arctic unmanned aerial vehicles, cookie mining, balloon-powered Lego cars, robotic vehicles and more.

The open house takes place in conjunction with National Engineers Week, an annual event to increase public awareness and appreciation of engineers and their work. The Engineering Open House is sponsored by the UAF College of Engineering and Mines.
