Dust off your gardening tools — campus flower planting is June 1

University Relations

UAF's 17th annual campus flower planting event will take place Wednesday, June 1, from 9 a.m. – noon.

Last year more than 90 volunteers from the campus and the Fairbanks community planted 38 beds across campus. There will be sign-up tables at two locations — one at Constitution Hall and the other at the West Ridge milepost sign. Breakfast treats will be available at both locations.

Everyone on campus as well as Fairbanks community members are invited to participate in this event. New this year, we will be creating small signs that can be placed at flower beds with the name of the business or organization that planted it. This sign will remain in the bed all summer. Please spread the word about campus flower planting day to your friends, coworkers and family.

Parking is free for all community members in the Nenana visitor parking lot across from the Patty Center. Ride the "flower shuttle" to the check-in point. To volunteer, contact Cheri Renson at at 474-5114 or cheri.renson@alaska.edu.
