UAF phone system to be upgraded March 10-13

The Office of Information Technology will upgrade the UAF phone system starting at
5 p.m. Friday, March 10, and concluding at 7 a.m. Monday, March 13.
Telephone services are expected to be available during most of this time, but two
activities could affect service for up to two hours. These activities are planned
for times when demand is typically low.
OIT has worked separately with the UAF Police Department and its dispatch operation
to maintain service without breaks. OIT also has worked with UAF service centers with
sophisticated call-routing schemes to help them plan accordingly.
After the upgrades, no noticeable changes to desktop phones or voice mail are expected.
