The University of Alaska Fairbanks will host a free preview of campus life for high school juniors and seniors and their parents Nov. 9-10.

On Nov. 9, Campus Life night will introduce prospective students to the offices and programs that contribute to UAF’s rich and engaging campus life. Check-in begins at 6 p.m. for the event, which concludes at 8 p.m.

Participants will have an opportunity to meet staff and students from the Student Activities Office, Student Leadership and Involvement, the Nanook Diversity and Action Center, Nanook Recreation and Residence Life. Tours of the residence halls will be offered and free pizza will be provided. Afterward, participants will be invited to take part in PopCon, UAF’s annual celebration of all things pop culture, in the Wood Center.

On Nov. 10, the Inside Out program offers a comprehensive preview day for students who want to learn more about UAF. Students and parents will hear about transitioning to college, the admission process, extracurricular activities, academic programs and more.

Inside Out also includes open houses, a variety of presentations and a resource fair. UAF application fees are waived for students who attend. Check-in begins at 9 a.m., and the day concludes with a reception ending at 5 p.m. Lunch is included.

Double-occupancy rooms are available on campus for $35 per night during fall 2018 Inside Out. For questions about accommodations, contact Kate Avery at ktavery@alaska.edu.
