UAF eLearning is helping to celebrate National Distance Learning Week Nov. 9-13.

All week, students, staff and faculty are welcome to stop by the eLearning office in 131 Bunnell to enjoy refreshments. Student Services will be available to answer questions about courses and the additional support students receive.

Students taking distance courses will be encouraged to share their stories on a Facebook event running throughout the week. Participants will be entered to win a smartpen that enhances the learning experience.

Faculty who want to develop an online course or enhance a distance component in a current course are encouraged to sign up for a consultation with a member of the instructional design team. All faculty are eligible for three hours of consultation. Email Madara Mason, the UAF eLearning faculty development coordinator, at emason@alaska.edu for a slot.

UAF will offer more than 400 courses via distance this spring, allowing the university to support students around the state, around the country, and even around the world.
