CTC Partners Event Invitation 2018The University of Alaska Fairbanks Community and Technical College will host a celebration of community and industry partners from 4:30-6:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7., at its Fairbanks downtown center, 604 Barnette St.

The event will recognize the continuous support that local businesses and individuals give to Fairbanks’ community college, partnering in CTC’s mission to build a quality workforce in Alaska and support student success.

The public event on First Friday will have a come-and-go, open gallery format with visuals and recognition of partners for each CTC program. The event will honor more than 340 partner organizations. Culinary arts faculty members and students will prepare food live throughout the event for attendees to sample. Remarks will take place at 5:30 p.m., with Sen. Click Bishop as the keynote speaker.

“As a college with a workforce development focus, we succeed in delivering a wide variety of high-quality educational programs to our students with the support of our community,” said CTC Dean Michele Stalder. “The support CTC receives from the community and local industries makes a profound impact. We would like to recognize these supporters as valuable partners and thank them for their efforts and contributions.”

CTC partners provide support in many different forms. Examples of this support include the donation of emergency vehicles for training first responders, the use of professional facilities for health students to complete their clinical experience, the donation of industry-standard uniforms for automotive students, and service on advisory boards to ensure the curriculum meets the needs of employers and students.
