UA Press transitions to Chicago distribution center as sole distributor

The University of Alaska Press is pleased to announce that all order fulfillment,
shipping, returns and billing will be handled by the University of Chicago Press's
Chicago Distribution Center, effective May 1. CDC has provided this service for orders
generated in the Lower 48 and internationally for over five years while orders generated
within Alaska were filled from the UA Press's own warehouse.
CDC now takes over as the sole distributor for UA Press books.
For wholesalers, bookstores and libraries:
Place orders through the Chicago Distribution Center. (CDC is set up to receive orders
via EDI, from trading partners who wish to submit orders via this method.)

For individual customers:
Make online orders, as usual, via the secure e-commerce site at www.uapress.alaska.edu. Alternatively, order books from CDC by phone at 800-621-2736.
Walk-in customers may purchase and pick up books occasionally at the UA Press office in Fairbanks, but full case quantities will no longer be maintained. Customers should call ahead to check availability.
For authors:
Authors wishing to obtain quantities of their books should contact UA Press Customer Service in advance to coordinate shipping, billing and delivery details. Author orders will be forwarded directly to CDC.
In order to ensure timely delivery of books for an event, authors should make sure the venue places an order with CDC no less than three weeks in advance. Also contact UA Press Marketing if you are planning an event for assistance with publicity coordination and book delivery details.
