Training: Subawards, A - Z

March 8, 2018

University Relations

Procurement and Research Services will present "Subawards, A – Z" Monday, March 12, from 1:30-3:30 p.m. in Murie Auditorium.

This session will discuss all things related to budgeting, issuing, monitoring and closeout of subawards. Implementation of 2 CFR Part 200 (Uniform Guidance) has impacted many areas of the subaward process, and we will go through all the ways that UG affects you. We will look at the impacts of UG, including applicability, new data elements we are required to provide, and additional documentation required to issue new subawards. We will cover terminology, characteristics of a subaward versus a procurement, and provide tools for working with faculty to make the determinations. We will discuss the subrecipient monitoring process, the risk assessment P&CS performs, high-risk subawards, responsibilities and reporting. Finally, we will walk through the new subaward templates to be rolled out campuswide, along with new required documents list and the routing process.

This overview is designed for faculty, staff, procurement techs, grant techs, fiscal officers and executive officers.
