Use the Blackboard Adaptive Release feature to assure students can perform well before introducing your next topic. Based on criteria you define, content can be released step-by-step so students may build upon their knowledge, perform at a certain level and then move on.

For example, you could require students to check a box agreeing that they had reviewed required material and received an acceptable score on a quiz in order to see the next module. Other examples include providing remedial material to students who receive a low score or giving a more challenging final project to high-achieving students.
