Alaska swimming head coach Scott Lemley announced the program has signed Victoria Adams (Anchorage, Alaska/Frontier Charter) to a National Letter of Intent.

Adams is the younger sister of sophomore Margot Adams, who is a four-time All-American for the Nanooks.

“We've been watching Victoria almost as long as we've been watching Margot,” Lemley said. “They are very akin in their attributes, tall athletic women. Fortunately, Victoria's events are not Margot's events, so we think siblings will work well in this case.”

She comes to Alaska following a very successful career as a prep swimmer. She was the state champion this year in the 100 backstroke with a time of 58.17 and also finished third in the 200 individual medley with a lifetime best mark of 2:11.12. Her best times in those two events would rank fifth and sixth, respectively, all-time in the Alaska Nanooks' women's swimming record book.

Adams completed her high school career ranked fifth all-time in the history of high school swimming in the state of Alaska in the 100 back. Upon enrolling, she plans to major in Education at the university.

“To see her sister swim so well last year under challenging conditions, it gave Victoria the confidence that we're about improvement and if she comes here, she knows she will get faster,” Lemley said.
