Summer Sessions is hosting a variety of lectures, movies and concerts this week. All events will take place at the Murie Building Auditorium unless otherwise noted.

Monday, July 8
7 p.m. — Family Cultural Nights: "How did a Japanese classical saxophonist end up in Alaska? " with  Jun Watabe, assistant professor of music.

Tuesday, July 9
7 p.m. — Healthy Living Lecture: “Your Electronic Health Record: What you don't know, but should know to manage your health better" with Rebecca Madison, Executive Director, Alaska eHealth Network.

Wednesday, July 10
5:30- 6:30 p.m. — Activity: Family Fitness Wednesday – You get to play with a huge Globe ball! The object of the game is to get the ball across a field without getting your flag stolen. It’s even a fun spectator sport! Join us at the Student Recreation Center for an evening of family fun.

7 p.m. — Discover Alaska Lecture: “Packrafting in Alaska” with Edward Plumb, hydrologist at the National Weather Service, Fairbanks

Thursday, July 11
7 p.m. — Film: “Drylanders" (1962). This epic drama looks at the opening of the Canadian West and the drought that led to the Depression in the Thirties. 70 min.

7 p.m. — Concert: “The Headbolt Heaters" Enjoy an eclectic sound with elements of roots rock, blues, folk, bluegrass, and an underbelly of punk. The concert takes place at the Georgeson Botanical Garden.
