In the coming days, there will be several important virtual events in which you can participate as recommendations for academic changes at the university move forward.

  • Friday, April 3, President Johnsen will hold a virtual listening session from 2 – 3 p.m. to hear from the UA community about the current Expedited Academic Review recommendations before final recommendations are shared with the Board of Regents’ Academic and Student Affairs Committee. President Johnsen will receive input on recommendations from the Academic Council after it meets on April 1, and also wants to hear from the students, faculty and staff. If you are interested in testifying, please call 1-866-726-0757. Testimony will be 2 minutes per person. • Saturday, April 4, the Board of Regents’ Audit Committee will meet from 9 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. noon to discuss a range of financial topics including expenditure reduction plans. The committee meeting will be livestreamed at www.alaska.edu/bor/live.

  • Thursday, April 9, the Board of Regents will hear public testimony by telephone in advance of the Academic and Student Affairs Committee's meeting on April 13-14. The special public testimony session will be one of several opportunities to share your perspectives on proposed academic changes directly with regents. Details on that public testimony will be forthcoming.

  • Monday/Tuesday, April 13-14, the Board of Regents’ Academic and Student Affairs Committee will begin two days of meetings to review the Expedited Academic Review recommendations put forward by President Johnsen. The meeting will be livestreamed at http://www.alaska.edu/bor/live/.
