Solicitation of potential workshops for early childhood education conference

March 12, 2018

University Relations

Solicitations are sought for potential workshops to be conducted during a two-day early childhood education conference in Fairbanks in September. The conference will address wide-ranging issues of interest to early learning teachers, home visitors, family advocates, support staff, parents, advocates and administrators of early learning programs (birth through age 8). It will be held at the Westmark Hotel and Conference Center.

Experts in fields related to early childhood education are welcome to submit ideas or general topics for workshops, including:

  • Recent research

  • How the expertise relates to early childhood education, directly or indirectly

  • Observations about the state of young children and their families that may be of concern

  • Trends that affect or will affect the well-being of young children and their families.

Some travel scholarships are available. The conference is part of a collaboration between the early childhood education program at the Community and Technical College and the Northern Interior Association for the Education of Young Children.

For more information about submitting workshop proposals, email AnneMarie Mattacchione, assistant professor of early childhood education, at amattacchione@alaska.edu.
