The National Weather Service expects above-normal temperatures and periods of snow in the Interior from Thursday night through the weekend. Snowfall from 4–8 inches is expected, and freezing rain is possible in the southern Interior.

UAF's Facilities Services operations department plans to have crews working at night and through the weekend to keep up with the snowfall.

While the snow is falling, they will concentrate on keeping the campus open and safe for students, employees and the public. This will be done by clearing campus entrances, intersections, roads, walkways, parking areas for people with disabilities, stairways, wheelchair-accessible ramps and parking lot drive lanes.

Once the snow has slowed or stopped, they will begin clearing snow piles from lots and roadway edges as well as scheduling parking lot cleanings.

In the meantime, people who have vehicles parked in Taku lots 8B and 8C should be aware that regularly scheduled snow removal will begin at 11 p.m. on Wednesday, Feb. 22. Please remove vehicles by that time. Remaining vehicles will be towed.
