UA employees will see a new streamlined look for SkillSoft online trainings as SkillPort was upgraded June 8. University employees continue to access resources through UAOnline.

Online demonstrations on how to navigate the new SkillPort 7.0 site are scheduled for 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 27 and Friday, Aug. 19. If you are unable to attend these online demonstrations you can view the video clips online.

Other Skillsoft training updates:

  • Books 24x7 – SkillSoft’s Book 24x7 collection allows users to download certain books to their MP3 audio player.  Users who choose to download content should ensure their devices have adequate storage space to store the files, and software to support the downloaded file formats.

  • Project Management Institute – There are changes to the PMP exam. The Project Management Institute will be modifying its PMP exam this August. This will not affect the SkillSoft curriculum. The exam will still be based on the PMBOK 4th Edition, as is our PMP curriculum. However, the format of the exam is expected to change somewhat. A new PMP TestPrep will be released in July so that it will be representative of the updated exam. A new PMBOK is expected in 2012, which will result in substantial changes to the exam. The curriculum will be updated accordingly so the courseware continues to prepare learners for the certification exam.
