Scientists who have just returned from voyages on the research vessel Sikuliaq will be on hand for “Sikuliaq Science Day” at the University of Alaska Museum of the North on Saturday, May 9 from noon to 3 p.m.

The University of Alaska Fairbanks School of Fisheries and Ocean Sciences, which operates the Sikuliaq on behalf of the National Science Foundation, is hosting the free event. Visitors can ask questions about oceanography and the ship’s first voyage to the Arctic. There will be giveaways of ship merchandise and refreshments.

This is the final day to explore the museum’s special exhibit “Arctic Odyssey: Voyages of the R/V Sikuliaq.” For more information, visit www.uaf.edu/museum or call 907-474-7505.
