Shuttle changes for 2017-2018

University Relations

There are changes and additions to the Fairbanks campus shuttle service this year.

  • All UAF shuttle bus routes (Nenana, Tanana Loop and Yukon) begin at 7:30 a.m.

  • Nenana and Yukon routes operate until 6:30 p.m.

  • Tanana Loop operates until 10:30p.m.

  • Tanana Loop now services Patty Center from 7:30 a.m.-6 p.m. After 6 p.m. it also services the south Wood Center bus stop and Nenana lot bus hut.

  • Tanana Loop also now services the Taku bus hut as well this year. This gives the campus access to more parking locations with headbolts and bus service to campus. The loops around campus are approximately 20 minutes long.

  • Yukon and Tanana Loop routes now service the UA Museum of the North.

  • All UAF shuttle buses head up the hill toward West Ridge when leaving the north Wood Center bus hut. So, if you need a ride to West Ridge or any destination along the way, just jump in a UAF shuttle at the north Wood Center.

  • The shopping shuttle on Tuesday nights leaves the north Wood Center bus hut at 7 p.m. and leaves West Fred Meyer at 8:15 p.m. to return to north Wood Center. On Thursday nights the shopping shuttle leaves the north Wood Center bus hut at 7 p.m. and leaves WalMart at 8:15 p.m. to return to north Wood Center.

We are working on a bus service to the downtown Fairbanks area twice a month; this bus would also service First Fridays. The tentative schedule would have the bus leaving the north Wood Center bus hut at 6 p.m. and departing the downtown location at 8:30 p.m. Stay tuned for more information once we determine the final plan.

As always, we encourage everyone to make use of the day to day services the UAF and borough bus systems offer to campus students, visitors and employees to get around on and off campus. For more information please visit https://www.uaf.edu/fs/services/shuttlebus/.
