Hands-on programs at the University of Alaska Museum of the North during the month of September will focus on animals in art.

At Family Day: Animals in Art on Saturday, Sept. 14, from noon to 4 p.m., visitors can explore how animals inspire artists, see art from the collections and create their own animal artwork. There is no admission fee for children 14 and under at Family Days, thanks to support from TOTE Maritime.

The Early Explorers program for families with children 5 and under will take place each Friday from 10 a.m. to noon. On Saturday, Sept. 28, the Junior Curators program, which is open to children 6 and older, will take place from 2 to 4 p.m. These activities are included with admission and are free for museum members.
